Hexa's Olympics Report 4

11:52 AM - August 19, 2004

It's a medal rush baby!

How frickin well have we done over the past two days! Bronze to Parry in the pool! That was a fantastic race! Marred slightly by how rude Phelps was at the end of it but what does it matter? We got our firse Olympic swimming medal in 8 years!

Then yesterday we got four medals! FOUR!

Bronze in the womens Archery, bronze in the canoeing, bronze in the team Equestrian and silver in the individual Equestrian. But such drama!

The German's best rider supposedly crossed the start line twice which *should* have put her and the German's in forth place. The Judges reversed their own decision though and gave it back. Now France, Britain and the USA are lodging formal complaints. France *should* have had that gold, we should have the silver and the USA the bronze so who knows what's gonna happen!?

Not only that but in the canoeing where we got our Bronze, we were initially in forth. Then, while the girl was interviewed live for Grandstand she became strangly distracted, turned round to the interviewer and said "The computer say's I'm third!"

It turned out the judges had awarded an extre 2 penalties to the french athlete for knocking gate five and we moved up to her spot! Fantastic!

Today is just as great! We're guaranteed at least a silver in the badminton's mixed doubles so fingers crossed for gold!

One British runner had a 'mild form of kidney failure' 10 days ago bust has apparently recovered and it training again. I wasn't aware you could have *mild* kidney failure but there you are.

We're doing well in the men's Archery too!

Athletics start soon so looking forward to that.

And a couple more swimming finals tonight! It's really exciting!

See, it's nice to come from a smaller country because we can get all excited about medal success that might be seen as mediocre by larger countries. We may be one of the best known, most powerful and richest countries in the world but we are *teeny tiny*! Kinda makes you proud!

Went to Freeport yesterday. Oldies did some shopping then we had a Chinese buffet for lunch and went to see I, Robot. It's a really great movie, especially the nekkid Will Smith in the beginning! Yum!

So all round good few days! More to come!

Ja Ne!
