Dream with me

Lots of work and stuff

1:58 PM - December 09, 2005

Ok, I'm not doing so badly with my workload now.

I have 900 words left on specialist but I managed to knock out 750 in two hours before so it shouldn't be a problem. With any luck the Islamic society will email me this weekend. If not, I'll write it without quotes, I've got no choice.

I've finally chosen my Conflict essay title: To what extent are contemporary Western governments able to regulate journalists in times of conflict?

The irritating thing is, because it's less than a week to deadline, a lot of the better books are out on loan.

Still, good news is I've found a lot of web articles about censorship and self-censorship in times of war, so it's all good.

After I am finished here, I will got get books and maybe take them home to work on them. I find it easier to makes notes in provate, when people can't see me yelling at books because they won't stay open on the page I need while I type.

I had that meeting with my tutor on Wednesday. It was really productive. Sadly, I won't be able to do half the amount of work I wanted to because I only have a 9000 word count. Our 15,000 overall project is split between Specialist and final project, to make sure we *all* do at least *some* articles.

Anyway, I'm researching the use of Public Diplomacy in the War on Iraq (my international case study), Tinananmen Square (my China study) and The US Spy Plane in China (My US study).

Sadly, as I said, I can't fit in the US in Chilie, Atom bomb tests, Middle Eastern Arms sales or Global Warming.

Stupid piddly word count.

On a lighter note, I had an...interesting day yesterday. As I was leaving for Conflict I accidentaly trod on my only pair of glasses and broke them. So I was forced to make an emergency trip into Hanley to get them fixed. Nadine came with me as my personal Guide Dog. I am so blind without my glasses. People are nothig more than coloured blobs until they get real close to me and I can't tell the difference between people and lamp posts.

Anyway, I got them fixed in Boots (for free) then we got a Burger King lunch, did a bit of window shopping and came back to Uni.

It turned out then, that Nadine has locker herself out of her house. So while she ran around looking for her housemate to borrow her keys from, I came here to work on my Parseltongue feature.

Just when I was about to commit suicide by computer, Nadine came and read through it. She made a ton of changes and now it's much better. Readable and everything!

I want to add about 100 words to make it a round 1000 but that shouldn't be too taxing. Heh, she says after two weeks of screaming at it for driving her mad.

After leaving here, we went back to mine. After watching Space Cadets (the biggest hoax on TV ever) we went and hung out in Dan's room for two hours or so with him and Ed.

Then, needless to say, I went to bed.

Anyway, it's a pretty light workload today. I can get these books out then do home, make some lunch (pasta I think) and do some reading.

Right, it's a plan.

I'm off.

Ja Ne loves ^-^
