Dream with me

Dissertation Thoughts

5:02 PM - April 18, 2005

Good grief today's been hectic!

I've had four phone calls from people who have been stressing about deadlines. I ended up in Brindly helping Sarah after her computer had a meltdown!

Today was meant to be a nice easy day of playing FFIX (why when it is my least favorite to I continue to play this game!?) and arsing about until T&P.

That didn't happen.

I haven't eaten anything either.

Of course, that's less of an issue because I'm going to dinner with Sarah apparently tonight so thats ok.

Instead of the usual T&P lecture today we had a talk by Raff about next year. I've been trying to think about a subject or topic for my Dissertation.

I'm leaning towards a case study of ten countries, their journalistic codes of conduct, their approach to certain topics (I.e the two Iraq Wars, Elections, International news ect.) and trying to see if their codes of conduct hold up and weather or not there should be - with the expanse of globalisation - an international CoC that journalistic organisations sign up too.

As for the Specialist Project, I'm completely stumped.

So I have to give it some thought. Maybe start some research...

As for the countries, I was thinking UK, US, France, Japan, Germany, Australia, Canada, Russia, an eastern European country such as Ukraine, Isreal and Jordan.

A nice enough spread but I may sacrifice Germany for one of the Nordic countries...

But it's all in the very early planning stages so it's subject to change.

Anyway, I had best be off. I have to meet Sarah soon and I want to have a snack because I am starving.

Ja Ne my loves ^ - ^
