Dream with me

Being Noticed is less fun than I'd once thought...

**Does a happy dance** people are leaving me notes! Huzzah for the people!

I had a pretty interesting day yesterday. Didn't do much in the morning except shower and eat breakfast, to be honest.

In the afternoon I had my Conflict and Journalism lecture. The actual lecture was boring, pretty much just a history lesson on modern warfare, but the seminar was fun. Nadine, Lorna and I were working in a group assessing the impact of the Battle of Britain on modern warfare. We didn't do much assessing, to be honest. Spent most of the time giggling about how Tom Hanks apparently won WWII. I realise this doesn't exactly sound like a *funny* topic, it was one of those 'you had to be there' ones ^ - ^

Then I went to finally pick up the cheque from the Uni. I didn't get 20 in the end. I got 30! HA! Eddie Rocks!

Then I went to try to borrow that book from Mick. Turned out he didn't have it and the copy he'd highlighted in the reading list was in Stafford, for goodness sake!

Nadine, Lorna and I spent forty five minutes in Micks office, talking to him. It was an odd experience. Usually it's only Raff that can talk your ear off for half an hour plus.

Anyway, he loaned me this really great book and a copy of a really dull but useful article. I've got to give them back in a week so I *have* to read and make notes on them this weekend. Plus, he's photocopying another chapter out of a book for me so I need to pick that up on Monday as well.

I got all flattered because he doesn't lend books out, as a rule, but he loaned it to me. Yay ^ - ^

Only downside is, now that he knows what books I've got, I've *got* to use them in my essay.

It's no fun having people *expect* things of you, ya know.

Plus, I got a tad freaked out because I know for a fact I never told Mick what I wanted to do after I graduate but he somehow *knew*!

Ok, so I know that they talk about the students, thats pretty common knowledge. I just wish they wouldn't *remember* things about me! I'm not used to people taking that much notice of me!

Anyway, after that Nadine and I went to the Ember Lounge for a bit. Just over two hours, in fact. We just chatted about boys, politics, religion, the usual.

I had great trouble explaining to her why it never bothered me while Lee and I were dating, that he slept with Charlie a few times after her boyfriend dumped her but that I ditched him over his cheating.

The fact is, I didn't think monogomy in our relationship was important, but truth and trust were.

When it was Charlie and Lee I knew it was happening, I knew it wasn't about being in a relationship but about two people who had been very close, comforting and being comforted. There was no lying.

But I suppose the crux of it is simple. Lee and I had fun, he was kind enough and funny and sexy but we weren't in love. We both knew it, it was never going to end in marriage and forever. It was a teenage relationship, not the real thing.

If I fell in love, yes, I'd want him to be faithful, but that may never happen (falling in love, I mean).

Anyway, after we'd been there an hour or so Dan turned up. Dan's great because he always makes you feel like your opinion really matters. He makes you feel smart.

Although it's hard to debate politics with a die-hard Socialist.

Anyway, it was an interesting day.

I'm looking forward to tonight. Really really looking forward to it.

WEST WING STARTS TONIGHT!

Two whole brand new episodes preceeded by Fareinheit 9/11!

I'm loving this new More4 channel. I hope after this week it doesn't become subscription based...

Although there's nothing on their site to suggest it will be...

Liz is supposedly coming over tonight to watch it.

I've just been in to Stoke to put that cheque into the Bank. I popped into Woolworths as well. Initially I intended to see if they sold any Terry Pratchett books (I only brought one with me! Stupid Hexa!) but they didn't. So I bought sugary goodness and chocolate instead ^-^;

Anyway, I've got a fun weekend of hitting the books planned. Joy. Well, books and some articles/photocopies too...

No skiving off and spending the whole day in bed this weekend, sadly...**Sigh**

Still, Michael Moore and the West Wing will cheer me up greatly! w00t!

Right, we'll I'd best be off. I still have some online stuff to do and Andrew Sullivans site to visit.

Ja Ne lovelies!

P.S. Heh, rain is fun to watch, Toms-gal, not so much fun getting caught in it and soaked to the skin! BRRR!
